The course is aimed at introducing the photothermal techniques so as to show their main applications. Photothermal science is a rapidly developing field that has led to the development of several techniques that are currently adopted in both industrial and research fields. The topics covered in the course are: Photothermal principle, Thermal waves, Detection techniques, NDE evaluation, Investigation of phase transitions.
